Some curious responses. Mostly very short emails back and forth with nothing really being said. And of course several initiating contact with me... I think most of these are scammers of sorts.

What's it like for a girl to correspond on these sites? Are there as many male scammers and time-wasters? I'd guess that there are plenty, but a lower percentage than from female scammers/time-wasters?

...its like i thief...he never ll stolen something from person if can see that this exactly person keep eyes open Wink

he/she will stloen from that person who are visibale from the pictures -dont pay so much attention for those things

Well, I was just really wondering what kind of men write to women on these sites. Is it possible to get an idea of what proportion appear "normal", and what proportion appear to be a bit "odd" (scammers, time wasters, etc- ie; not "serious")?

It's good that you haven't come across any scammers. But I have heard that there are male scammers as well- and there was even a TV documentary about this on British TV about a year ago.

different kind of men)))from 25 till 58yo)) from different countrys(europe mostly), from latvia as well

at least thats look like....what is a sense to have a messages if never going to meet? A lot of men from Turkey, they are actually looking for on line sex chat.
So, the procent of normal,with whom I can meet in Latvia ,where live now, not big one at all,of course. Rolling Eyes

But still there are enough to go and meet tham .I m just too picky Wink

Not seriouse, well, that can be married men,who looking for some actions))))But in my profile I wrote where they should go, so they dont bother me.Also 18-29yo young guys not seriouse of course)))))

Anna...you might be kidding lol...I am quite new in this russia wife thing and that's why a girl almost pulled my legs...and all of this was english..

Can you picture if it was in russia??

Could you send me those websites too?

One website I found is called BridesUkraine. It has different levels of membership depending on how much you want to pay. The girls in the "gold" level appear to be models, include photos with little or no clothing on, and I suspect are primarily scams. I have had some correspondence with girls at the "silver" level and I would say they are primarily "normal", although many were simply "time wasters". They were simply looking to get to know someone but were not interested in a serious relationship.

I'm interested in hearing what experiences others have had with non-ageny web sites such as this.

Excellent question. I, for one, would never use a dating or match-making service. I know I'm too much of a snob for it to ever work for me. I live in the New York area, and if there's one thing that's not difficult here, it's meeting women - Russian women, Brazilian women, Nebraskan women, whatever. I can't see a time when it would be better or easier for me to fill out a questionnaire to try to find someone compatible with me, when instead I can just walk over to someone and say "Hi" and find out in a matter of minutes if there's any compatibility. On the other hand, I have several friends who think dating agencies are great, and one who married a Japanese girl he met through one.
